auto-negotiate
auto-negotiate
Configures GigabitEthernet interface auto-negotiation mode. Use this command to either enable or
disable auto-negotiation.
To always have auto-negotiation disabled, regardless of the connection mode, use the no form of this
command.
auto-negotiate
no auto-negotiate
default auto-negotiate
Syntax Description This command has no arguments or keywords.
Command Default Auto-negotiation is:
• On for inline connection mode
• Off for receive-only connection mode

Usage Guidelines Auto-negotiation does not work when the Cisco SCE platform is connected through an optical splitter
(receive-only connection mode).
In the Cisco SCE 8000 10GBE platform, auto-negotiation is supported by the GBE management
interface only (1/1). The connection mode is not relevant to the management interface.

Examples The following example shows how to configure all the GigabitEthernet line interfaces on the specified
SPA to perform no auto-negotiation:
SCE_GBE>enable 10
