To reserve a strict priority queue for a set of RTP packet ﬂows belonging to a range of UDP

destination ports, use the following command in interface conﬁguration mode:

Conﬁguring Number Expansion

This section describes how to use the num-exp command to expand a set of dialed digits, such as an

extension number, into a destination pattern representing a complete telephone number for Voice

over IP on Cisco MC3810 concentrators.

Enter the following command in global conﬁguration mode for each extension number to be

expanded into a destination pattern.

Conﬁguring Dial Peers

This section describes how to use new commands deﬁning dial-peer operation for Voice over IP on

Cisco MC3810 series concentrators.

Conﬁgure POTS Dial Peers

POTS dial peers enable incoming calls to be received by a particular telephony device. To conﬁgure

a POTS peer, you need to uniquely identify the peer (by assigning it a unique tag number), deﬁne its

telephone number(s), and associate it with a voice port through which calls will be established.

Under most circumstances, the default values for the remaining dial-peer conﬁguration commands

will be sufﬁcient to establish connections.

To enter dial-peer conﬁguration mode (and select POTS as the method of voice-related

encapsulation), use the following command in global conﬁguration mode:

The number value of the dial-peer voicepots command is a tag that uniquely identiﬁes the dial peer.

(This number has local signiﬁcance only.) The tag value identiﬁes the dial peer and must be unique

on the router. Do not duplicate a speciﬁc tag number.

To conﬁgure the identiﬁed POTS peer, use the followingcommands in dial-peer conﬁguration mode:

starting-rtp-port-number port-number-range bandwidth
