Front-Panel Description
The front panel of the Catalyst 3550-12T and 3550-12G switches has
10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports, GBIC module slots, a set of LEDs, and a Mode button
Figure 1-2 and Figure 1-3. The front panels of the Catalyst 3550-24 and 3550-48
switches have 10/100 RJ-45 ports, two GBIC module slots, a set of LEDs, and a
Mode button, as shown in Figure 1-4 and Figure 1-5.
The Catalyst 3550-12T 10/100/1000 ports are numbered 1 through 10 (port 1 is
on the far left, as shown in Figure 1-7), and the GBIC port numbers are 11 (top)
and 12 (bottom). The Catalyst 3550-12G GBIC ports are grouped in pairs. The
first member of the pair (port 1) is above the second member (port 2) on the far
left, as shown in Figure 1-8. Port 3 is above port 4, and so on. The
10/100/1000 ports are numbered 11 and 12.

• Supports connection for optional Cisco RPS 300 Redundant Power System that
operates on AC input and supplies backup DC power to the switch
