8.0 Field Technician Responsibilities
Install two DSL lines at customer premise. Line one includes a working phone number, which should be
splittered at the customer premise. Line two will not include dial tone at this time, so no splitter is needed.
A category 5 home run should be installed when possible to further isolate the DSL signal from the
existing premise wiring.
The technician is also responsible for testing each DSL line for sync and errors, at the NID, as well as
inside the premises (see sections 9 and 10 of this M&P which communicates how to perform a manual
ADSL2+ Auto test at the NID and how to run the D.A.T.A bonded testing script inside the premises) and
configuring the Cisco DDR2200 Bonded ADSL2+ gateway.
All Bonded DSL trouble reports will be issued under Report Type 70 (DSL - Bonded). These tasks will
only be sent to Full Install and Bonded capable technicians. Follow normal DSL trouble shooting
procedures for each port/pair assigned on the customer’s service.
Materials Required:
The following equipment is required to perform the installation and testing of ADLS2+ Bonded HSI.
Cisco DDR2200 Gateway – required CPE to be installed at the customer premise
